Case Study

ASCLS. Clinical Lab Investigations: Case Studies for the Laboratory Professional-Transient Erythoblastopenia of Childhood. N.p.: ASCLS, 2013. Quiz Case Study. This is a quiz for the laboratory professional. It is a great example at what happens after the blood is sent to the lab. In this case study/quiz, the symptoms experienced are given, the age and sex of the child, the history, and the tests run. Also given are the results of the test and what that means. It is the goal of the person reading the case study to determine what is wrong and the accurately determine what the results mean. The answer is not given in the file, it must be purchased by the student for credit. But this is a great example of the process from going to the doctor for a problem, getting certain laboratory tests done and what it could mean.

This is just a sample of what Hematology Technicians look at on a daily basis. So when a person gives blood for tests, this is what the technician sees on the other end. This is what most peoples blood looks like, which is quite fascinating for the hematology technician.
